So, I was watching a video of Markiplier and stumbled upon an old song, entitled "Space Is Cool" and I suddenly have this urge to do this ahahahahaa. Shall we?

The hottest planet is not the closest planet to the Sun.

• Even if Mercury is the closest to the Sun, the hottest is actually Venus! Its thick clouds trap the Sun’s heat causing Venus to be at 500°C :0

There may be life on Mars.

• In 1986, NASA found what they thought may be fossils of microscopic living things in a rock recovered from Mars.

Nobody knows how many stars there are in space.

• That number is between 200-400 billion stars and there are estimated to be billions of galaxies so the stars in space really are completely uncountable.

There could be a planet made entirely out of diamonds.

• Research by Yale University scientists suggests that a rocky planet called 55 Cancri e — which has a radius twice Earth’s, and a mass eight times greater – may have a surface made up of graphite and diamond. Hooooooly damn =3=

A day on Venus is longer than a year on Earth.

• Venus has a slow axis rotation which takes 243 Earth days to complete its day. The orbit of Venus around the Sun is 225 Earth days, making a year on Venus 18 days less than a day on Venus.

• Olympus Mons stands about two and a half times as tall as Mount Everest's height above sea level. Golly.

Venus has super-powerful winds.

•  Scientists have found that its upper winds flow 50 times faster than the planet's rotation.

Saturn has a hexagonal-shaped storm.

• Saturn's northern hemisphere has a raging six-sided storm nicknamed "the hexagon." Why exactly it's that shape is a mystery.

The Sun's mass takes over 99.86% of the Solar System.

• Made of three quarters hydrogen and helium for most of its remaining mass, the Sun accounts for 99.86% of the mass in our solar system with a mass of around 330,000 times that of Earth.

One million Earths could fit inside the Sun.

• And the sun is considered an average-size star in space.

• Its equatorial clouds take 18 hours to make one rotation because Neptune is not solid body.

Jupiter has unique cloud features.

Uranus hits the coldest temperatures of any planet

Saturn has the most extensive rings in the solar system.

• The Saturnian rings are made mostly of chunks of ice and small amounts of carbonaceous dust. The rings stretch out more than 120,700 km from the planet, but are are amazingly thin.

Mercury has wrinkles.

• As the iron core of the planet cooled and contracted, the surface of the planet became wrinkled. Scientist have named these wrinkles, Lobate Scarps.

Earth is the only planet not named after a god.

• The other seven planets in our solar system are all named after Roman gods or goddesses.

The Earth is the densest planet in the Solar System.

• The average density of the Earth is approximately 5.52 grams per cubic centimetre.

 There can be between 2 and 5 solar eclipses each year.

• Depending on the geometry of the Sun, Moon, and Earth, that is.

Almost identical eclipses occur after 18 years and 11 days.

• This period of 223 synodic months is called a saros.

Our galaxy will collide with Andromeda Galaxy in about 5 billion years.

• Some astronomers refer to our two galaxy as a binary system of giant spirals.

A person would weigh much less on the Moon.

• The Moon has much weaker gravity than Earth, due to its smaller mass, so you would weigh about one sixth (16.5%) of your weight on Earth.

Pluto is the largest dwarf planet.

• Currently the most accurate measurements give Eris an average diameter of 2,326km with a margin of error of 12km, while Pluto’s diameter is 2,372km with a 2km margin of error.
